Rehabilitation & Retirement
Shadowbrook Stables' Rehab and Retirement farm is located in Fillmore, CA. The owners Jeni Brown and Mike Keener, live on the farm and oversee all the horses' care. There are many different sized pastures with young, old, and rehabbing horses living in them.
REHABILITATION
If your horse needs a few months off from their training routine for whatever reason. We have stalls with runouts, single horse turnouts, and turnout in pasture with other horses.
Our newly constructed 6 stall barn has 12x12 Comfort Stall Mattresses and large 12x24 wire mesh in and outs attached for each stall. Each stall is bedded with shavings and is cleaned twice a day.
Horses are fed twice a day and groomed 2 times a week. We feed Teff/Timothy, Alfalfa and Forage, as well as supplemental feed of Senior, Alfalfa Pellets, Beet Pulp, Rice Bran, or Nutrena Safe Choice depending on what each horse needs.
We have also have a treadmill to help keep your horse fit.
RETIREMENT
If your horse is ready to retire and wants to live out his/her days relaxing in a pasture with his friends we have a tranquil place where they can be content, comfortable, and well cared for. We take a lot of pride in making sure our retired horses live the rest of their days as happy as possible. Pastures are nice sized, flat, and all have lots of shade.
